Welcoming Fr Darren!
It is a joy to announce the appointment of Fr Darren Moore to the Provincial Council, serving in the role of Vice Rector for Formation. Darren was appointed at the AGM in 2025 and we are so looking forward to him sharing the experiences he has had with the province.
Fr Darren said the following in introduction:
I am currently Rector of a benefice at the northern most outpost of the Diocese of York (Yarm with Kirklevington, Picton & Worsall) and have been here just over four years. Prior to returning to parish ministry, I was school chaplain at Barnard Castle School – so rest assured my eyesight is pretty good! I trained at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield and was actually involved in the foundation of ‘The Dearmer Society’ in 2003 as the first Secretary (now of course the St Catherine Chapter). I served my title in a FiF parish in Scarborough and from the outset found my membership of SCP to be an invaluable source of fellowship and support that has remained with me throughout my ministry. I look forward tremendously to working with Provincial Council as we continue to explore the future development of the Society of Catholic Priests moving forwards.
